How I Found It
Last month a friend said "I am thinking of switching my plan, I am paying too much." She was paying 50-60 dollars a month, and most months she barely even held the phone, just using it for internet. So I said "wait, let me see if there is something that makes more sense."
I found Infimobile during this research. Let me say upfront that we have a partnership, but I actually looked into it before I agreed to write. There are 700+ reviews on Trustpilot, it has been discussed on Reddit, tested on Howard Forums. After reading the user experiences, I had a clear picture.
Now I am sharing what I know. If it is a good fit, I am including the link. If it is not, I am writing that too.
What Is Infimobile, How Does It Work?
Infimobile is an MVNO, meaning Mobile Virtual Network Operator. They do not have their own cell towers. They rent Verizon's and T-Mobile's networks to provide service. Companies like Mint Mobile, Visible, and Consumer Cellular operate on the same model.
What this means in practice:
- You are using a major carrier's coverage area (Verizon or T-Mobile, you choose during activation)
- The price is much lower than the big carriers because infrastructure cost is shared
- When the network is congested, the big carrier's own customers get priority. MVNO customers may end up at the back of the line
Important: Infimobile does not automatically switch between Verizon and T-Mobile at the same time. You choose which network to use during activation and it stays fixed. It makes sense to check the coverage in your area beforehand. They have a coverage map on their site.
Plans: What You Get and What You Don't
There are four main plans. They are definitely low-priced but the details matter.
5GB Plan ($49/year)
49 dollars for the whole year. That works out to about 4 dollars a month. Every month you get 5GB high-speed data, 2,500 minutes of talk and 2,500 messages for the month. Note: this plan is not truly "unlimited talk and text." 2,500 minutes and 2,500 SMS will very likely be more than enough, but technically there is a limit.
Who this plan makes sense for: visitors who come to the US occasionally, someone studying at a university for three months and going back, people who mainly use their phone on WhatsApp and WiFi, those looking for a second line.

10GB Plan ($75/year)
About $6.25 a month. Unlimited talk and text, 10GB high-speed data each month. This plan looks like the most balanced option: enough data, truly unlimited calls/messages, and the price is still very reasonable.
Considering Mint Mobile's cheapest plan is $180/year, the price difference is serious.

15GB each month, unlimited talk and text. Do you want hotspot? It is not included in this plan either, you can add it for an extra 5 dollars a month. So with hotspot it is $185/year.

20GB Plan ($175/year + Free Hotspot)
The top plan. 20GB data, unlimited talk and text, and hotspot is included with this plan (it costs extra on the other plans). $175 per year, about $14.50 a month. At this point it makes sense to compare with competitors like Mint Mobile or Visible. They offer more data but cannot come close to this price.

Hotspot note: On the 5GB, 10GB, and 15GB plans, hotspot is not included by default. You can add it for 5 dollars a month. On the 20GB plan, hotspot comes free. This is important to know beforehand. People find out after activation and get surprised.
eSIM or Physical SIM?
Both are available. eSIM activation happens instantly with a QR code, no need to wait for mail. You can also order a physical SIM card kit from Amazon or use the site directly.
My preference would be eSIM: it activates instantly, no risk of losing a third card. But if you are using an older phone or your device does not support eSIM, physical SIM definitely works.
Activation: An Honest Take
One of the most talked-about things with Infimobile is activation. I saw many Trustpilot reviews saying "I could not do the activation myself, customer service handled it for me." This is both a good thing and an important piece of information for managing expectations.
The good side: they have 24/7 customer support and the reviews are generally very positive. "I spoke to someone without waiting," "they helped me step by step," "we sorted it in 10 minutes" are phrases that come up a lot. One person said "Costco-level service," which is a reliable reference for me.
Realistic expectation: online activation sometimes goes smoothly on its own, sometimes you need a support call. You may need to set aside time for this, especially if you are porting your number from another carrier. The porting process can take 2-48 hours depending on the carrier.
Your phone needs to be unlocked. Infimobile will not work with a locked device. You can call your current carrier and request an unlock.
Who It Makes Sense For, Who It Doesn't
It may make sense if:
- You just arrived in the US and want to get a phone line quickly and cheaply
- You are a student staying for the year, especially if you will use WiFi a lot
- You are a visitor who comes to the US repeatedly and are tired of buying tourist SIMs every time
- You mainly use your phone for WhatsApp, Google Maps, and the occasional call
- You are looking for a cheap second line alongside your main one
- You are paying 60-80 dollars a month and do not know why
It may not make sense if:
- You heavily stream Netflix, YouTube, Spotify over cell data. 10-20GB fills up fast
- You use hotspot as your primary internet source
- You expect flawless 5G speeds everywhere. Even big carriers do not have 5G everywhere, and neither does this
- You have a locked phone. You need to unlock it first
A Separate Note for Visitors
People coming from Turkey to the US usually do one of two things: turn on roaming on their Turkish line (expensive) or buy a tourist SIM at the airport (very expensive). Infimobile's $49/year 5GB plan shows there is a third option.
If I activate online before arriving (this is possible with eSIM), I can start using my phone the moment I step off the plane. If the visit is longer than 1 month, this plan more than pays for itself.

If You Want to Port Your Number
If you want to bring your current number to Infimobile (port-in), you need to select this during activation, though it can also be done later. Have your current carrier's account number and PIN ready. Once the porting is complete, your old line shuts off and the switch happens right then.

My final thought: Infimobile is honest about its cheap pricing, the numbers are real and so is the network. It makes a lot of sense for light users, newcomers, and visitors. Activation sometimes requires a support call but customer service handles it. If you use a lot of data or really need hotspot, I would suggest looking at another carrier. But if you want a simple, cheap line, this is a serious option.
