MacBook Air M4: Why Does It Matter?

The M4 offers roughly 25-30% faster CPU performance compared to M3, and noticeably improved graphics. No fan, no noise, completely silent operation. 18 hours of battery life. But the real important change is not performance: the base model now comes with 16GB RAM as standard. The M3 Air starting with 8GB got a lot of criticism, and rightfully so. With M4, that problem is gone.

Is 256GB enough? Short answer: not for most people. macOS itself takes up ~15GB, app updates pile up, and many people with the 256GB model start having storage problems after 2-3 years.
